Unfortunately, the uneven recordings of the LP failed to catch most of the crazy heavyness and bluntness of Vincebus Eruptum sound depriving the album of Blue Cheer's specific mark. The album was recorded both outdoors and indoors—hence the title of the album. As I write this, Paul, Leigh, Dickie, and Abe are deep inside the recording complex of Philips, mixing and mastering the tunes that were worked out on that $1,a-day pier that let Blue Cheer use the whole world for an echo chamber!

6. It’s still a lot heavier than the third album, New and Improved, which doesn’t even sound like Blue Cheer anymore, but it’s still almost a radical departure from what put them on the map. I like the two mentioned tracks plus Feathers From Your Tree and a few others a bit. However, I 4/5(5).
